"The most amazing sight I was able to witness on my trip was without a doubt was the look on the faces of the students we gave backpacks to because something so small gave them smiles as if they had just been given keys to a beach side mansion." Justin Walls 16 "Seeing these smiles on the faces of those children when they received their backpacks, well word just can't describe the impact this seemingly small gift had on these children and surely brought tears to our eyes." Sharon Lyons "I always saw smiles on all their faces. It makes you think because even though they don't have a lot they can be happy, so it makes you appreciate so much more in life. " Chelsea Strickland I can't get rid of the passionate embrace those kids gave me on the last day. I can still feel the tight hugs they gave me as they uttered "Thank you" over and over again. Ashley Franscell "I can hardly believe that it is even possible to live like this!! How valuable are the backpacks to these children? The backpacks are incredibly valuable to these children that they walked one hour each way just to get one. They have nothing in this world and no hope for a future any different from their parents or their grandparents." Rebecca Countess "As a volunteer for the Give a Kid a Backpack Foundation, I have been to Mexico and twice to Ecuador. These humanitarian trips have been one of the best experiences of my life. I wanted to help; I had the desire to make a positive impact in a child's life, and this organization has provided me with the opportunity to make a difference. " Emily Sendin "The trip, the experience, gave me a true appreciation for my life and a real understanding of importance of education if for nothing else but to promote thought, which fuels hope and ultimately change. " Kathy Stevens "One of the most touching things a kid said to me was when I gave her some of my lunch and she replied with "God will repay you." The most touching thing a kid gave me was a flower that was so beautiful. This was just a small act of kindness I will never forget in my lifetime." Karli Whitaker
"I have had the privilege of going on a Give a Kid a Backpack mission trip to El Salvador. There I saw a beautifully organized trip which brought backpacks that US children had donated to needy Salvadorian "With your help, we were able to hand out 700 backpacks at seven different institutions, thereby, creating a strong and lasting partnership between American citizens and U.S. military members with the Honduran people and government officials. As the children continue to overcome incredible odds, it is through the efforts of people like you and the volunteers with Give a Kid a Backpack Foundation who help equip them for their future successes."
